Good fishing for a rationalised fleet.
The Tasmanian season opened up on the 15th of November, with the exception of the East Coast Rebuild (Catch Cap) area.
There was not the usual rush off to fish as we had asked our boats to save their quota for Chinese New Year early next year. Fishing was good for those that went and we are continuing to see our fishery improve.
Quota remains a hard to get commodity and with that we continue to see a fleet reduction. Only 154 vessels have registered for this season, down from 180 last year and 200 the year before.
In Hobart we’ve been early adopters of Wild Legend branding, from trucks to polo shirts, and now export polybin labelling for the new season. We reckon it looks great – hoodies are next!
